Public Health administrator Wiarda resigns: Board appoints interim

The Franklin County Board of Health last week appointed an interim administrator for Franklin County Public Health.
Earlier this month, current director Christa Wiarda announced her resignation from the position, effective Aug. 27. Jennie Swart, assistant administrator, also resigned from the position, which became effective Aug. 9.
The Board of Health on Tuesday appointed current public health nurse Ashley Roberts as the interim. Board of Health Chair Susan Wulf said Roberts, who has been with public health for more than two years, will be interim effective Aug. 27. The board also approved a pay increase to $27 an hour for Roberts during her time as an interim.
