Polls open in Hampton at 7 a.m.; noon in rest of county

Election day in Franklin County promises to be a busy day for candidates, poll workers, and voters alike.

     Polls open in Hampton at 7 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. There are three locations to vote in the city of Hampton. Those who would like to vote by mail in Hampton have a deadline of Friday Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. to request a vote by mail ballot. Those voting by absentee ballot have a deadline to vote of 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4 in Hampton.

     Outside of Hampton, in other cities in Franklin County, the polls open at noon and close at 8 p.m. Voters who are using absentee ballots in cities outside of Hampton have a deadline of 11 a.m. Nov. 5 to submit their ballots.

     Eligible voters who are not registered to vote can register to vote up until the closing of the polls on election day.
