Plagge wraps up supervisor career

Hugs and handshakes greeted Supervisor Jerry Plagge Monday morning as he bid farewell to fellow county officials during his final board meeting. Plagge, who served on the Franklin County Board of Supervisors for 12 years, is retiring from public service when his term expires Dec. 31.

     “It was really fun the last 12 years,” he said. “I enjoyed this.”

     Plagge announced in August he would not pursue another term despite winning the GOP nomination in the June 3 primary. Gary McVicker was selected to fill the Supervisor District II vacancy during a special convention and won the seat in the November election. He ran unopposed.
