Plagge withdraws from November election

Long-time supervisor thanks Franklin County for years of support

 

With health concerns and family at the forefront of his decision, three-term Franklin County Supervisor Jerry Plagge withdrew his name from the November election ballot last week.

 

“This wasn’t an easy decision,” said the District II supervisor. “I agonized and deliberated over it for quite a while.”

 

Plagge, 71, a Stage IV lymphoma cancer survivor, has undergone medical exams recently to track his recovery. He said “certain things popped up” with his health over the summer, and felt pursuing another term wasn’t in his best interest. Instead, the Latimer man plans to focus full attention on his personal life after his term expires in December.

 

Despite uncertainty about his health, Plagge remained upbeat.
