The lanes at the Community Bowl in Dumont have gotten a bit dusty since the bowling alley closed last April, but the pins are down and excitement levels are up in Dumont, as new owner Brandon Barber plans to reopen the business on March 22.
Barber, of Ackley, plans to provide a great family envi-ronment, welcome leagues and improve the kitchen to provide a full-service restau-rant.
"If you have good food and a good environment, people will travel to come," said Barber.
Formerly, Community Bowl closed for the season in the summer, but Barber plans to keep the business open year-round, with kids' leagues and instruction in the sum-mer-and perhaps eventually adult summer leagues as well.
"I'm hoping to have leagues in here this fall, and I'm hoping for a lot of birth-day parties for families," Bar-ber said.
