Peña hits 100-win mark

HAMPTON – A lot of wrestlers earn 100 wins during the course of their careers.

However, it is another thing to do so in only the third season of varsity competition.

Hampton-Dumont heavyweight Mario Peña did just that and got to celebrate it at home during the Bulldogs dual tournament on Saturday, Jan. 10.

The Class 2A top-ranked 285-pound senior did not go out for wrestling as a freshman, leaving him to accomplish the feat in just two and a half years.
