More than 200 area children’s Christmases were made a little brighter last week.

Last Tuesday marked the annual distribution of toys collected through the Hampton Rotary Club’s Operation Santa. For nearly a month, community members donated new toys and cash for the cause. The effort resulted in hundreds of toys, which were then given to 67 families, or a total of 204 kids.

“I am just amazed, not only at the number of families we helped, but the amount of people that donated,” said Rotary president Becky Bradburn.
