HAMPTON – Last time Hampton-Dumont’s Class 3A No. 10-ranked girls basketball team played Iowa Falls-Alden, the Bulldogs suffered a huge upset.

This time, coach Chad Johnson’s squad made sure there would be no let-down in overwhelming the Cadets 75-37 in the Class 3A Region 5 opener at Hampton.

“Last time we didn’t play with much energy,” Hampton-Dumont assistant coach Tim Nelson said. “It was kind of like, they (IF-A) had beaten Eagle Grove and they were coming in confident. Tonight, we were just a little more focused and more energized.”
