A new set of housing is beginning to take shape on a major Hampton street.
Crews from Sheffield-based Trademasters, Inc. have braved the winter conditions to construct a triplex on Fourth St. NE, just across the road from Casey's General Store.
Trademasters, Inc. President J.C. McCaslin, who co-owns the business with Ben Moore and Kevin Westaby, said the triplex features three, 1,500-square foot units. Each unit comes with an attached, two-car garage and a partial basement with a crawl space.
Units include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sunroom, a kitchen/living room/dining room open concept floor plan, all on one floor. A nook will allow the addition of a fireplace if the homeowner wishes to install it.
McCaslin said the idea to build a triplex stemmed from the lack of new housing options in Hampton. He added that local realtors informed him that similar developments in town are filled with minimal time between owners, which showed that the triplex model would be a viable option.
