HAMPTON – If only the weather would cooperate, new Hampton-Dumont girls’ tennis coach Derek Turner and his players are raring to go with the 2018 season.
A year removed from not having enough players to field a full team and a coaching switch mid-season, Turner looks forward to having seven players, all with experience.
“The year is off to a slow start with the weather, but hopefully that improves in the coming weeks,” Turner said. “We have seven ladies out this year with the majority having tennis experience. I’m glad we have enough to fill our varsity roster so that we can compete as a team this year.”
The full story appears in the April 11 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
