Meinders moves on as runner-up

The only wrestler to advance from AGWSR out of the 1A sectional at Eagle Grove was 220-pounder Caleb Meinders.
He lost a close 1-0 decision in a re-match with West Hancock’s Colton Francis from a dual tournament last month.
“I believe it was 4-3 last time, I closed the gap, but hopefully next time I can reverse it,” Meinders said. “I was hoping to escape, but it didn’t turn out in my favor.
“If I face him again, the biggest thing is to keep my cool because I know his offense now and he knows mine it’s just a matter of who keeps their cool. That’s wrestling. If you keep your cool, you’re going to win, you don’t, you could get beat or things don’t turn out your way.”
