Meinders ends on a high note

DES MOINES – After the grind of the 2017 state wrestling tournament, AGWSR senior Caleb Meinders can say he ended his experience with a victory.
The 220-pounder finished seventh, not what he originally set out to do, but was happy that he took home a win in the final match of his career.
“It’s great to win your last-ever match as an AGWSR Cougar,” Meinders said. “He was a tough opponent. He tried a couple of throws there, but I knew he was going to be a thrower, so we worked on headlocks...it feels great.”
