Marjorie Louise Heins Boulton, 87

Marjie, 87, died peacefully with family by her side in early February. Born
and raised in Hampton, she met Jerry Boulton when they were waiters at a
diner near the University of Iowa, where she was studying. They married in
1955.

After moving to California, she raised a growing family and taught elementary
school in Sacramento from 1970 to 2003, work she delighted in.

Following her career in education, she co-founded the Rancho Cordova
Historical Society. Portions of her history of Rancho Cordova, written for
her master’s degree from California State University, Sacramento, were
published in The Grapevine and the Sacramento Bee.

Marjie loved children, adventure, gardening, history and Kings basketball, a
sport she played at Hansell High School.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hattie and Albert,
beloved husband, Jerry, and daughter Roxanne. She will be missed by her
children Karen Huntington, Alan Boulton, and Debbie Wilhoit, grandchildren
Melissa Day (John), Greg Wilhoit (Samantha), and Shane Wolfe (Michelle), and
great-grandchildren Aiden, Gavin, and Evelyn, her sister, Delores Benning of
Hampton and her nieces and nephews.

Marjie donated her body to UC Davis Medical School.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
