Margery Ann Miller, 87
Margery Ann Miller, 87, died on October 21, 2022 at her home in Ellenton, Florida. She
will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery in Geneva, Iowa. There will be a graveside
service in the summer of 2023.
Margery was born on the family farm on December 22, 1934, the first daughter of Elmer
and Anna Held. She graduated as valedictorian of her class from Geneva Consolidated
School. She attended Iowa State University where she majored in home economics.
She taught preschool for many years and she used her training and work experience to
be a stellar wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
While at a square dance at Iowa State, she met her future husband Carl E. Miller. They
were united in marriage on February 6, 1955. They were blessed to be together 67
years. She is greatly missed by her husband, Carl and their three children, Carol (Rob)
Baird, Portland, Or, David (Robin) Miller, Memphis, Tn, and Linda (Mark) Evans Dayton,
Oh. She was much loved by her seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Many
fond memories were formed at their Pennsylvania cabin and Florida homes.
She felt blessed to have lived a full life with a long, loving marriage, travel around the
world, snow birding between Pennsylvania and Florida and the ability to travel and see
family across the United States.
She will be remembered for her smile, great laugh and sense of humor. She enjoyed a
good joke and the many pranks at family reunions. She enjoyed square dancing,
playing cards and video games, watching sports and doing jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her sisters Lois (Leonard) Koch and Elma Kay (Neil) Emmons. She
is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Marlys Meyer, brother-in-law Larry
Meyer and nephew Steven Meyer.
