A 20-year-old man suffered minor injuries after a single vehicle roll-over accident Saturday afternoon in rural Franklin County.

Franklin County sheriff's Deputy Leon Root said that at aboout 2:30 p.m., 20-year-old Cameron Carpenter was driving eastbound on 170th Street in a Ford Contour sedan when he attempted to turn south on Mallard Avenue.

Root said the brakes on the vehicle apparently malfunctioned, and unable to slow down, Carpenter drove off the gravel road, and rolled the vehicle into a ditch, knocking down a stop sign at the intersection. Root said Carpenter suffered minor injuries of scrapes and cuts when he crawled out of the overturned vehicle and did not need to be transported to a hospital.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
