Main Street Market opens in Hampton

From food to furniture, a new discount retail store in downtown Hampton has it all.
Main Street Market held its grand opening Monday following five months of interior renovations and upgrades. The business is located in the former Dollar General building across from the courthouse and features a diverse inventory like health and beauty products, electronics, grocery items and other merchandise. It will be staffed by workers from Access, Inc., and open six days a week.
“We wanted to be open a lot sooner, but it was probably the best advertising we could have done because everybody was stopping to ask when it was opening,” said Mark Whipple, director of development at Access. “The buzz has been building.”
