Lucile Nelson, 104, of Wesley, died Monday, September 19, 2022, at Franklin Country View in Hampton.
A funeral Mass was be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2022, at Divine Mercy Parish – St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church in Wesley. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Wesley. Visitation was at 9:30
– 11:00 AM Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wesley.
Lucile Elizabeth (Eisenbacher) Nelson was born the 12 th of 15 children on January 22, 1918, in Wesley.
She was the daughter of Ignatius and Thekla (Simon) Eisenbacher. She received her education at St.
Joseph parochial school and graduated from Wesley High School.
On May 1, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clarence Nelson at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley.
They farmed in the Wesley area and moved into town upon retirement.
Lucile was an excellent cook and famous for her gooey cinnamon rolls. She was also an avid reader and
enjoyed playing cards and games. Furthermore, she loved to share stories of her childhood with family
and friends.
Lucile was a devout Catholic and active in her church and the Divine Mercy Parish. She participated in
communion ministry, circle leader, sacristan, and the church choir. She served as a 75-year member of
Catholic Daughters of America. When she was no longer able to attend church services, she watched
Mass on EWTN and prayed numerous rosaries.
Lucile passed away September 19, 2022, at Franklin Country View in Hampton. She was 104 years old
and lived a fulfilled life.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann (Duane) Kelch of Hampton, Jeanne Huck of Carmel, CA, and
Sue Blanch of Murrieta, CA. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and
nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Clarence Nelson; 14 siblings; and grandson, Tony
Kelch.
