Local business owner passes torch to son

Long-time Hampton business Ron’s Roofing will change ownership next month, but area patrons won’t notice much of a difference when roofing season rolls around next spring.

     Owner Ron Paine will transfer operations over to his son, Brad, effective Jan. 1. Paine has owned the business for 18 years and will retire once the transaction is complete. Brad has worked as a foreman at the company since it opened and plans to continue where his father left off.

     “I’ve pretty much just been in roofing for most of my life,” Brad said. “Not a whole lot will change actually, except I’ll be paying the bills.”
