Sometimes it’s hard for the Harper family to relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor this time of the year at TownsEnd Winery in Hansell.

“People say, ‘It must be so much fun being able drink wine whenever you feel like!’ But honestly, we’re usually too tired by the end of the day,” said Shelley Glenzinski, daughter of winery owners Vernon and Judy Harper.

The family-run operation has been buzzing with activity recently in preparation for its annual wine release festival August 31-September 1. This year’s celebration will be the business’s fifth wine unveiling since they opened in 2009, and the Harpers are excited for a great turnout. Numerous events are scheduled for the weekend including free wine tasting, an arts and craft show featuring Iowa vendors, live music and much more.

“It’s a wine release, but really it’s a way for us to show our customers, friends and neighbors how much we appreciate their  help and business,” said Judy.
