Latimer Fire Department expanding headquarters

A sizeable new addition to the Latimer Fire Department is progressing nicely on Donovan Street.
     Volunteers have been busy this summer completing work on an expansion to the building’s south side. The new 128’ by 44’ addition will cost $80,000 and add three extra garage doors once it’s completed.
     According to Fire Chief Mike Keehn, the addition will give the department some much needed space. The meeting room is often cramped during training exercises and other gatherings, and the department has to park smaller vehicles in front of the larger trucks so everything fits properly.
