Lashbrook becomes first AGWSR frosh state medal winner

DES MOINES – Trey Lashbrook was still stung from a consolation loss on Friday night.

That seemed to be the right time for AGWSR coach Chad Gerbracht to spring the news to his freshman 113-pounder that he just became the school’s first in his grade to medal at the state wrestling tournament.

“He surprised me,” Lashbrook said of the news. “I had no idea I was and it was kind of a lift after a down match I had.”
