A Hampton restaurant is ready to open the doors to its new location on Main Street.
This Thursday, La Chozita Antojitos Mexicanos and Mariscos will celebrate with a grand opening at 24 First St. NW, formerly Breadeaux Pizza.
To celebrate the new location, the restaurant will have a ribbon cutting on Thursday and give out free tacos from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. that day.
Israel Rodriguez Martinez and his family opened the original La Chozita on Federal Street in September of last year.
Nieve Martinez, kitchen manager, and mother of owner Israel Rodriguez Martinez, said customers at the new restaurant can expect to find authentic Mexican food with an emphasis on seafood. The menu will include new additions like Molcajete, enchiladas and a breakfast menu. Additionally, Martinez said the restaurant will serve more Americanized versions of Mexican classics, such as tacos with ground beef and taco salads. She said her hope is to encourage anyone to stop in and enjoy food prepared with care.
"We want Americans to come and try our food," she said.
