Iowa State Sen. Amanda Ragan stops by Hampton

Iowa State Sen. Amanda Ragan (D-District 27) stopped by Center One, Hampton, on Nov. 15 to discuss issues ahead of the legislatures session, to begin next year.

Community residents, group leaders and city employees discussed the potential loss of backfill payments to cities and schools, as well as housing and employment challenges to boost economic growth.

Ragan also addressed educational matters ahead of the next session, including solidifying the state’s standardized test, considering extension of Operation Sharing Dollars and financing concerns over transportation.
