Iowa Living Roadways eyeing dog park in Hampton

     The Iowa Living Roadways Steering committee is moving forward with one of its community improvement projects in the form of a dog park in Hampton.
     Committee member Sue Wulf has been attending government meetings within Franklin County over the past week, informing them of the organization’s intent. The site currently being eyed for the project is the area along Rolling Prairie Trail on Northwest 1 Street (right near where the railroad crosses the road).
     That property is currently owned by Franklin County and maintained by the county conservation board. Wulf said that after speaking with the supervisors, they are on board with the idea, and the conservation board is currently gathering information about putting a plastic septic tank in the ground, there.
