The Franklin County Board of Supervisors heard an update at its meeting Monday about a concerning situation at local recreation parks and wildlife areas.

Franklin County Conservation Director Jason Gooder met with the board and expressed concerns about rampant illegal fishing and hunting throughout the area.      Gooder said the problem stemmed from a lack of enforcement. Conservation department employees don’t have authority to issue citations to unlawful outdoorsmen, which leaves an open door for those that don’t follow the rules.
