Huge price differences for traffic light repair options

Hampton City Mananger Ron Dunt laid out a long list of solutions and price estimates to repair the city’s broken traffic light at the council’s workshop Monday night.

     Prices ranged from as little as $1,700 for a simple fix to as much as $150,000 for a full replacement of the lights. The council discussed each option, but ultimately felt one of the less costly solutions fit the interest of citizens more thoroughly.

     “I had many people tell me that they liked the four-way stop, they just wish they could see them [stop signs] a little better,” said Council Member Craig Eckhardt. “And I think the lights will help with that.”
