The Hampton City Council wrapped up some end-of-summer business during their meeting on Thursday, Aug. 11.
The meeting began with the recognition of Everett and Doreen Peterson, who were nominated for this month's Image of Pride award.
"They pretty much exemplify what we're trying to accomplish with this program," said council member Dianne Pralle, who nominated the Petersons. "It'd be an honor to have them in any neighborhood."
Moving on to public comments, the council once again heard from Milton Heyde via telephone. Heyde, who has been banned from city property, made several provocative comments about the council last month. Mayor Brook Boehmler informed Heyde that similar remarks would result in him being barred from spoken comments and that he would have to submit future comments to the council in writing.
