HDC Boys track advances two events to state

The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys track and field team competed in Neveda on Thursday for Class 3A Districts.

Two events moved on to the Class 3A State meet for the Bulldogs, Jordan Severs in the 400-meter dash and the 100-meter relay team.

Severs finished first in his race with a time of 56.79.

The 4x100 finished in fourth place with a time of 44.52.

“I am really proud of how I have witnessed growth in each one of our athletes throughout the season,” coach Dan Aalbers said “Overall, it was a good night for the Bulldogs with several PR's by our younger kids.”

Freshman Scott Harr threw 125-10.00.

Freshman Gage Plagge had a personal record of 18-07.00 in the long jump.

Jayson Steven and Zayden Erdman had a PR with 5:08.48 and 4:56.77 respectively.

Tate Schmitt placed fourth in the high jump with a height of 5-10.

The 4x800 team ran a 9:04.61 for fifth place.

The 440-meter shuttle hurdle ran for fifth place in 1:11.10.

The 800-sprint medley relay finished fifth with a time of 1:38.24.

The team finished seventh overall at the meet.

The Class 3A State meet will take place from Thursday to Saturday.

The 3A sessions will start at 9 a.m. each day.
