HAPPY volunteers help out at Harriman Park

You’ll have to forgive local Kiwanis Club members if they seemed a little giddy last week.
     The group wrapped up the final leg of its Harriman Playground Park for Youth (HAPPY) campaign with a community build project Aug. 6-8. Around 60 volunteers converged on Harriman Park to install colorful new playground equipment purchased after an extensive fundraising drive.
     “It’s amazing what has gotten done,” said HAPPY committee member Karen Schmidt. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – the community’s support for this project has been above and beyond.”
