Hampton Gospel Hall making progress on new building

Despite chilly temperatures and wintery weather, construction crews are progressing nicely on the new Hampton Gospel Hall located alongside Highway 3 in the heart of Hampton.

     Work got under way at the church’s new site in late summer. According to Gospel Hall member Ben McCandless, the building will feature a sanctuary, kitchen and more Sunday school rooms than their current location on Fifth Avenue. That building had begun to show it’s age in recent years, which prompted the construction of the new facility.

     “We were looking for a better location, and the building we’re in is just getting old,” explained McCandless. “We thought being on the main drag like that would be better, too.”
