The Hampton Council held a hearing for entities to request funding from the city ahead of budget preparations. Of the organizations requesting funds from the city, were the Franklin County Development Association, The Hampton Senior Center, The Hampton Public Library, Franklin County Alcoholism Service Center and the Chamber of Greater Franklin County.
FCDA, on behalf of Director Karen Mitchell and President John Latham, requested it’s consistent funding of $45,000 (the same amount since 2012, said Mitchell). Mitchell said that there are several projects underway with FCDA and that there is evidence that there will be increased activity that the county can be involved in, over the next few years.
The organization is currently completing a rebranding process that will include new brochures for the town of Hampton and the county as a whole. The housing study that FCDA has funded is also looking to be available in February.
