UPDATE:
Thomas Craighton, Franklin County Emergency Management Coordinator, has reported that Hampton's McDonald's restaurant and Crossroads convenience store are open and the carbon monoxide threat has been controlled.

McDonald’s restaurant and Crossroads convenience store in Hampton were evacuated at around 10:30 a.m. this morning (Wed, Jun 20). The Hampton Police Department reports that the evacuation was due to a carbon monoxide leak.
McDonald’s employees stated that the carbon monoxide alarms began to sound, so they cleared the building. No one was hurt in the incident, but officials advise to avoid the area until further instruction. It is indeterminate when the restaurant and convenience store will reopen.
