The writing bug bit Hampton author Amber Rodgers early.
She recalls a third grade project in which students had to write one paragraph, which their peers would then correct spelling and punctuation. While most students adhered to the one paragraph requirement, Rodgers' love for writing took over.
"I ended up writing a 10 page paper," recalled Rodgers with a laugh, adding that her teacher kept the assignment after her retirement due to the amazement that a third grader was able to produce a lengthy, well thought out paper.
That desire to write as a child stuck with Rodgers, who is set to release her sec-ond full-length novel, "Shattered Innocence" on March 3.
"Shattered Innocence" focuses on the story of Chloe Logan, a young woman whose changing behavior has loved ones looking for an-swers. Rodgers doesn't want to give too many details of the book away, as it is a mystery thriller, like her first nov-el "The Only Escape."
