Hampton’s holiday offers abundant

Editorial: With an array of activities offered in the Hampton area this holiday season, “boredom” shouldn’t be on your Christmas list.
Last weekend, the holiday season in Hampton got underway with a slew of musical acts, including the annual Franklin Choral Christmas concert. And that was just the beginning.
In the coming weeks, the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, along with a host of volunteers, community members and businesses, will put on a variety of holiday-themed activities during the annual Holly Dazzle festivities. This culminates on Saturday, Dec. 15 with activities throughout town. Downtown will be abuzz with horse-drawn buggy rides, business open houses, caroling and everything in between. The Hampton Public Library will host a visit from Santa Claus and the Franklin General Hospital Auxiliary will present its annual quilt show. For a full list of events, visit the chamber’s Facebook page or pick up a copy of the Nov. 21 Chronicle.
While you’re out and about at these activities, make sure to stop in the shops and pick up a gift or two. These businesses work hard to bring quality items and services to the area and we owe it to them to make sure they can continue to do so. By shopping local, we support our friends and neighbors as well as the community as a whole.
Yes, travel is a central part of the holiday season. But with everything the area will offer leading up to Christmas, spending it in Hampton won’t be without exciting opportunities.
