ACKLEY – A first-year trapshooter made the most of Hampton-Dumont’s first home event by shooting a personal best on Saturday, April 12.

Triston Shirk shot a 42 to lead the H-D Bird Busters as it played host to Belmond-Klemme and BCLUW.

A total of 140 trapshooters were expected at the meet, but it fell far short of that as three teams, South Hardin, Don Bosco and AGWSR did not attend as originally expected.

“For me, this is my first year of trapshooting ever,” Shirk said. “It is our second meet and I was really excited. It was kind of fun to set up beforehand...."

More on this story will be found, along with photos from the event, will be found in the April 16 print edition of the Hampton Chronicle.
