Touring the Hampton-Dumont district, Jarod Haselhuhn noticed something about the schools that made him feel at home.
The Humbolt, Iowa native, who is currently serving as a kindergarten through 12th grade Talented and Gifted (TAG) teacher in his hometown, has accepted the position as elementary principal of H-D.
“I decided I really wanted to pursue leadership positions and Hampton-Dumont was enticing because it’s similar to Humbolt as a community and school district,” he said.
Haselhuhn will take over the position next for current elementary principal Ellen Pickhinke, who resigned due to a move out of the area.
He said he’s excited to assume the role as elementary principal because of the students. Through his current position, he’s been able to build relationships with students and is thrilled to be able to continue to do that in a more expanded capacity.
