H-D School Board gets “sticker shock” from proposed South Side expansion

Renovations could exceed $10 million

 

The Hampton-Dumont Community School Board of Education held a special workshop session with Davenport-based Estes Construction and Waterloo-based Invision Architecture Dec. 4.

     The project, which was done through the Iowa Construction Advocate Team (ICAT), a service offered by the Iowa Association of School Boards, was an initial look at the current facility needs of the district.

     Paul Newhart, of Estes, and Kate Payne, of Invision, were on hand to present their findings.

     “This is not the end,” Newhart said. “This is just the beginning. It’s the starting point.”

     Newhart and Payne were two of the four members of the team who came to Hampton for a “Design in a Day” project.
