H-D loses late lead to Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE – This had the makings of what two top-10 high school baseball teams facing each other should be.
Low-scoring, intense and action-packed at the end.
And ninth-ranked Hampton-Dumont baseball head coach Matt Lokenvitz knew his team’s 1-0 lead after five complete innings probably wouldn’t be enough against the No. 2 Lions.
“They threw their ace, we threw our ace,” Lokenvitz said. “It was going to come down to one or two runs..."
