HAMPTON – After setting the school and meet record in the discus at the Bulldog Relays on Friday, May 2, Hampton-Dumont junior Madison Mason wants to make Osage her home.

That is because whenever Mason is at home, she tends to pop off outstanding throws.

“I have no idea,” Mason said about what it is that allows her to throw so well at Hampton. “My dad told me ‘you better hope Osage is your home and make it your home.’ I just have to make my big meets my home.”

After throwing 128 feet, 9 inches to win the event going away at the co-ed meet, Mason is hoping that she feels at home at the state-qualifying meet at Osage on Thursday, May 15.

The complete story, plus more photos, are available in the May 7 print edition of the Hampton Chronicle.
