HAMPTON – The strain of losing two starters, along with playing one of the top teams in the conference, got to Hampton-Dumont’s girls basketball on Friday, Jan. 26.
Algona rolled to a 70-34 win over H-D.
Were it not for senior post Makayla Severs, who scored 18 points, 15 in the first half alone, H-D wouldn’t have had much production against the visiting Bulldogs.
Algona’s Abbey Holmes hit four three-pointers in the first half on the way to a game-high 21 points.
The full story appears in the Jan. 31 print and online editions of the Hampton Chronicle.
