H-D board mulls moving kindergarten to North Side in 2015-16

A proposal by Hampton-Dumont Superintendent Todd Lettow would move all district kindergarten classes from South Side Elementary to North Side next fall, consequently eliminating all-day preschool classes and creating a morning and afternoon section.

     Lettow endorsed the plan at the H-D Board of Education meeting Monday night. Though no decision was made, he strongly urged the board to act on the proposal at their October meeting. The group for the past nine months has discussed solutions to alleviate space constraints at the district's two elementary buildings, and Lettow felt making a decision sooner rather than later would help faculty and administration prepare for the changes next fall.
