H-D board discusses potential North Side renovations

Future building upgrades to North Side Elementary topped discussion at a short meeting of the Hampton-Dumont Board of Education Monday night.

     The board unanimously approved a contract with two companies to design and implement a facility improvement plan at North Side. The H-D kindergarten class is moving into the building next year to alleviate space issues at South Side, but some renovations need to take place before fall 2015.

     The two companies will identify North Side’s most pressing needs and develop a comprehensive blueprint for future improvements. H-D Superintendent Todd Lettow said making the building more energy efficient with new windows and other enhancements could top the list, as could other things like replacing light fixtures and the ceiling.
