Glenn Lee Freie, 90

Glenn Lee Freie was called home to eternal rest on November 21, 2023. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Latimer.

He was born April 11, 1933, the son of Leslie and Laura (Hovey) Freie. Glenn was a lifelong member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer, Iowa. He was baptized May 21, 1933 and confirmed April 20, 1947. Glenn was united in marriage to Jeanette Davidsen on December 16, 1951. They lived on the same family farm almost their entire married life. God gave them four children: Keith, Curtis, Sharon, and Carol. Glenn loved studying the Bible and supported the Church in any way he could. Preceding Glenn in death were his parents, one brother, one sister, and daughter Carol (Kevin Borcherding).

Survivors include his wife Jeanette, son Keith (Nancy) Freie, son Curtis (Shellie) Freie, daughter Sharon Parks, son-in-law Kevin Borcherding. Glenn is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, a sister Evonne Plagge, sister-in-law Elna Meyer and many nieces and nephews.
