Once a year, communities in Franklin County come together for an evening of live music, good food and bidding wars for a cause: raising money in the name of cancer research.
Hundreds of local survivors and their families and friends flocked to the football field in Sheffield for the annual event.
Sheri Bogue, Chairwoman of Franklin County’s Relay for Life, said that the fundraiser generated high turnouts.
“Overall I think the night went very well,” stated Bogue. “All eight of the Relay teams were represented. We planned for 150 people for supper and ran out of food. I would guess overall we had about 300 people in attendance.”
Live music was provided to the attendees by Eyes on the Horizon, a local band based out of Hampton. Other events of the evening included hula hooping and donut eating contests.
