Franklin County Fairgrounds part of national fundraising project

Though the dust has just settled and the grass just coming up through muddied parking lots, the Franklin County Fair is back at attention, this time competing for $3,000 for renovation projects.
The Franklin County Fairgrounds is currently involved in a 15-fairground sweepstakes across the country, vying for a spot in the top five to receive grant funding for upkeep projects from Grinnell Mutual, in its competition, “Fairground Facelift.” Grinnell Mutual is a property casualty insurance company, and the largest primary insurer in North America, in business since 1909.
The Franklin County Fairgrounds was one of dozens to be reviewed for competition, which was only opened to states in which Grinnell Mutual operates, including: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
