The Franklin County Fair has announced the 2018 entertainment set for the 2018 fair, July 18-23.
Friday, July 20, fairgoers will experience the Roots & Boots tour to include Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye and back by popular demand, Sammy Kershaw. Kershaw has remained a consistent power hitter in country music with a chain of major hit records and sellout touring schedules. His plan for country music is to reclaim its roots and to recapture the spirit that made it great. His current album “Honkytonk Boots” promises to be the first step in his plan to reignite the soul of country music.
Aaron Tippin’s first big single, “You’ve Got To Stand For Something,” hit the Billboard Country Singles chart, peaking at No. 6. This song attracted the attention of Bob Hope where he was invited to entertain the troops on the Bob Hope show. Tippin’s hits began to pile up – “There Aint Nothin’ Wrong With The Radio,” “My Blue Angel,” “Workin’ Man’s PhD” then “That’s As Close As I’ll Get To Loving You” shows a one-of-a-kind country vocal style.
