Karen Mitchell, Franklin County Development Association (FCDA) Director, announced her retirement Monday.
Mitchell, who has served the FCDA for 14 years, in a letter said she will retire effective Friday, Feb. 14.
“It is time to turn my alarm clock off and divert my energies to playing with my grandkids, doing a little traveling and perhaps some disaster relief work in the future,” she said in the statement.
During her time with the FCDA, Mitchell said she’s proud to have overseen $50 million of physical expansion, the sale of Spec 3 and the likely sale of Spec 4. She added that she has also worked closely with many businesses that have expanded in Franklin County, which has then translated to hundreds of jobs.
