Fast track to Waldorf

SHEFFIELD – Saying that West Fork senior Alex Bender made a quick decision to attend college and play football at Waldorf, an NAIA school, is an understatement.

The process for being contacted by and then signing with the Warriors out of Forest City lasted approximately a month.

“(Offensive line) Coach (Jonathan) Black initially came here and introduced me to Waldorf and what they were about,” Bender said. “He got my phone number and then set up an initial visit and I went down there in January. I really liked it and decided to keep in contact with him..."
