Elvera Dodd, 96, of Hampton, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Franklin General Hospital. Funeral services are pending with the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.

Elvera Ruth Dodd was born on November 24, 1926 in Askov, Minnesota to Marius and Anna (Steffensen) Johansen. She graduated from Chapin High School. On June 28, 1945, Elvera was united in marriage to Lloyd Dodd at the Salem Methodist Church in Chapin. Elvera was involved with the Methodist Women’s Club, helped with Bible School and other church activities. She worked at Fay’s and Skandia Inn. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and she made baby quilts and wedding clothes for all six of her grandchildren. Elvera loved spending time with her family, and friends and neighbors at the assisted living. Elvera liked putting puzzles together.

Elvera is survived by her children Donald Dodd of Hampton, Dale (Shelley) Dodd of Hampton and Kenneth (Doreen) Dodd of Hiawatha, siblings Gerald Johansen of Eagle Grove, Gertrude Hollingsworth of Baxter, Minnesota and Marvin Johansen of Longmont, Colorado, grandchildren Tom (Tina) Dodd and their children Kiana and Ellis, Mindy (Dereck) Klaassen and their children Ryan, Alex Kuennen and Morgan Klaassen, Todd (Keri) Dodd and their children Kaylea and Olivia, Jennifer (Joe) Cox and their children Matthew, Megan and Sam, Jason (Molly) Dodd and their children Everett and Loretta and Bryce (Holly) Dodd and their children Bianca, Abby, Carter, Marty, Alicia and Jack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings Dorothy, Dagmar, Evelyn and Clarence.
