HAMPTON – Everyone in the Hampton gymnasium knew what was coming.

Iowa Falls-Alden and Drake University commitment Casey Schlatter, who stands 6-foot-8, can do it all and he did in a thrilling 68-59 double overtime victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Not once did the Cadet senior, who stands head and shoulders above everyone on the court, leave the floor against Hampton-Dumont (3-7), scoring 10 points in the second overtime to secure IF-A’s fourth win.

“We’re trying to guard 6-8 with 5-10 and 6-1,” Hampton-Dumont head coach Heath Walton said. “And not just 6-8, good 6-8, with a high touch. We would get there and help – but he’s not going to charge – he’s not going to lower his shoulder. He’s good and we don’t have the size."
